My first impressions about The Dark Horse trailer was a film about a group of disadvantaged people that grew up with the idea that they couldn’t do better but then the main lead Genisis convinces Ariki that the group has a chance to do better if Genisis helps through chess.

This film could cover the issues of racisim and sterotypes and though I wouldn’t compare my own life experience through the film, there are definitely  people that would.

I feel as if Genisis the main lead has a very strong and determined person.  This is refelected through the trailer because throught the whole trailer it seemed as if he kept going even when he got arrested.

After watching the trailer im hoping to see how they manage to overcome the difficulties through stereotypes.

During Social Studies we have been learning about New Zealand Disasters. I chose to research The Wahine Disaster. I found this interesting because I have read a book about this disaster.

What project did you work on the last term? Last term I worked on the electric guitar.

What did you find challenging? I found pressing the strings challenging.

What did you enjoy?  I enjoyed just playing it in general

If you could perform/record again what would you change? I would probably change nothing

What would you like to learn or have a go at this semester? I would try to have a go at  singing.

Green Peace

Q1: Who is Green Peace?

Green peace is an environmentally friendly company that exists because our fragile world needs a voice.

Q2:What have they done to make positive change? Scientists have a new rescue plan for our oceans: create a global network of ocean sanctuaries that’d put millions of square kilometers off limits to destructive industries.

Q3: What are they doing to protect our oceans? They are calling on New Zealand’s government to ban single-use plastic bottles.

What is Eco-Tourism? Eco-tourism is a sustainable eco-friendly way of making a huge business without damaging the environment.

Why is it a growing trend? It is a growing trend because people are paying these huge companies to help the environment.

How can tourism help our ocean? Tourism is helping our ocean because not only is the money used for the ocean but the areas are also private, making it a more comfortable place for the fish.

I chose the song Freaks by Surf curse which is also a rock indie genre,

I like that it has a chill vibe and isn’t too loud. Freaks are about constantly having a battle with your mental health. I think this song will be challenging because of the fact I haven’t played the electric guitar in ages.

Rotorua Canopy is a sustainable tourism company providing sustainability, education, and fun. Being sustainable matters because without sustainable tourism companies like these, the birds, trees, and the environment would be harmed.  The Rotorua canopy is able to provide sustainability because they include an educational tour after the zipline also the money they earn is used for the country. In conclusion, this company is sustainable because it provides fun, education, and help to the environment.

For the past weeks, we have been focusing on trashing our planet and we had to make a Prezi presentation for it.

Today at drama we read the last scene in dream seer pg 58 to 60 and it was memorable because it was finally the “happy ending” I also decided to choose page 60 to page 61 because it was very calm and there weren’t any words that were too hard to pronounce and also it was just an exciting scene and I just really liked the image I had about this scene.

Last Friday we performed our scene to the year 7 and 8s and I would say it went really well, Emalea and I moved and made use of the stage a lot, we memorized our lines and in my opinion, we used our emotions great. I don’t think I would change anything apart from having less floppy arms. Next time I think I should have more tone in my voice to make my emotions more obvious. I reckon that we should have smiled less at random places. Emalea and I both stood out very well because we both had good communication. Even though our arms looked floppy I think it helped very well with the emotional parts of the acting.
